Almost Done...

We were down in Bedar at the weekend and were finally able to see if the reality would match the vision of what we had in mind for the new Garden Room.  There is still stuff to do, some pictures, a mirror and some other decorative bits, but it is pretty much what we had in mind.

 

Cool, blue for summer and warm red for winter upstairs.

Surf's Up

We went down to the beach last night and the waves were crashing in along the shoreline - very unusual for this part of the Med and lots of the locals were down taking photographs of each other in front of the surf. Here Anna and Linda flee from a particularly wet wave.

The Cat loves Anna (1950's French Film)

We spent to morning out with a spade hunting the campo for plants for the new patio. Meanwhile Anna fell in love with this cat (or the cat loves Anna) and while lost in mutual adoration I caught this snap of the two oof them that looks like it a still from a 1950's French Film.

The cat just purred and adored the attention while keeping an eye on the planting just in case an opportunity presented itself for a fresh pile of soft soil.

More Wind and Waves

Linda and Mildred gaze out across the stormy  seas to where Sarah and Anna are dancing in the waves. It so rarely looks like this in the med we were surprised that the surfer boys did not appear as they can sometimes pop up like magic to reclaim the ocean as their own.

Wind and Waves

 
Lovely time walking on the beach yesterday as on onshore breeze whipped the waves up high. Sarah and Anna dived for the water like seals and like a little puppy Sarah shakes her paws dry!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday afternoon, Linda, Anna and I flew down to Alicante from Barcelona and Sarah and Mildred arrived from East Midlands, all within half an hour of each other  - hooray for good planning. 

It was a bit grey and overcast when we arrived but today we are all out in the sun on the balcony with the hamock to play in.

There is still some finishing off and tidying up to do downstairs but with a weeks holiday ahead of us, today is a time to RELAX!

The building works crack on with magnificence

Here is the downstairs sun room taking shape with the newly installed french windows.  Quite a bit to do yet but Alan is on the case and managing it all magnificently. Pedro the tiler is here as I type finishing off the floor. Ah well, back to the cleaning.....

Taking the rays

Came down here for the weekend to clean up the house before Lou and Rob and friends come down later in March.  Here I am taking a break from cleaning thick dust from every horizontal surface. Tough work but someone's got to do it. 

Floor down, doors in...

Arrived here yesterday to find that the floor was down (well not all of it) and the doors were in. They loook fab. They flood the room with light and the terrace will look spectacular when the building debris is removed.
